Wow, a 6+ knot underwater current sounds absolutely brutal! Mission Accomplished: Team Ryoshi Conquers the Currents! - Ryoshi Pro Outfitters

Wow, a 6+ knot underwater current sounds absolutely brutal! When an 800g jig wont even hold bottom, you know the ocean is throwing its absolute worst at you.
Huge congratulations to our Team Ryoshi - Michael Lawrence Panlilio, Ivan Go, Alvin Soriano , and Peter Tan for Pulling off a fruitful trip under these conditions, this is a massive testament to team Ryoshi's skill, adaptation, and sheer grit.
Having Boat Captain Randy Collado Martinez and Boatman Jomar on the sticks clearly made all the difference in navigating those crazy waters, our hats off to you both sir.
Mission Accomplished: Team Ryoshi Conquers the Currents!
Dates:May 20–22, 2026
The Squad:Michael Lawrence Panlilio, Ivan Go, Alvin Soriano, & Peter Tan
The Crew:Captain Randy Collado Martinez & Boatman Jomar
The Challenge
The trip started with some of the most challenging conditions imaginable. The team was hit with blistering underwater currents ripping at 6+ knots. Heavy metal wasn't heavy enough—even 600g to 800g jigs were rendered completely useless against the structural drift.
The Turnaround
But Team Ryoshi doesn't back down. Combining the elite local expertise of Captain Randy and Jomar with the deep experience and relentless adaptation of our four Pro Team members, the crew refused to blank.
By pivoting strategies, reading the water perfectly, and hunting down the right pockets of relief each day, the team managed to find the sweet spots.
The Result
What started as a brutal uphill battle turned into a highly fruitful and incredibly enjoyable trip! Proof positive that the right team, the right crew, and the right mindset can beat any conditions the ocean throws at them.
"Team Ryoshi always finds a way to make things right."
Incredible job, gentlemen! Way to put on a masterclass in heavy-current jigging. Tight lines on the next one!
Special thanks to sir Jackson for the boat and sir Joyren Christopher Go Ting for assisting us , we appriciate it very much
